In October 1, 1888, the Pittsburg Aluminum Company was an enterprise incorporated into The Pittsburg Reduction Company. This affected its market presence as it was confused for being a similarly named garbage disposal facility. The name was then dropped for the Aluminum Company of America in 1907 and, in 1999, was transformed into Alcoa.
